Originated from my collection 'Noctiluca'
Ones when I was swimming in the ocean....every little part of your skin being touched by water....lots of small fish came swimming around me and started picking on my skin. This experience I translated into this carpet. The title ‘with bated breath’ refers to, of course, holding your breath when you are swimming under water, but also because it took me two years to make this carpet (in between everything else that I was doing), and - emotionally - that certain period was a bit like holding my breath.
